Output products
Ash-based fertilizer, granulated. The product Seraplant P 38 contains 39% P2O5 of which 90% is neutral-ammonium-citrate (NAC) soluble. Its zinc spec is given as 875 mg/kg on the product data sheet, no data are provided for copper. In addition, a mixed grade NPS 12-27-8 is offered.
Process description
Sewage sludge ash is processed with the addition of `phosphoric acid and water in a batch process to tailor made fertilizers. The process uses a slurry of ash, water, acid and optionally additives, which is granulated in a suspended bed granulator.
Recovery rate (P in final product / P in input ash): >90%
Operating status
The plant operated until 2021, followed by bankruptcy, and has recently restarted.
