Process description

The system has four steps, aimed to reduce manure volume and valorize the separated products. Steps include coarse grid coarse solids removal, flocculant-assisted solid-liquid separation, followed by polishing filters and reverse osmosis. Operating cost and revenue benefits depend on solids separation costs, composition of influent manure, local manure disposal costs, and the NPK breakdown of output products.

Operating statusLWR

LWR systems are today installed at a total of around 40 dairy farms in North America and worldwide, with some systems now operating for more than ten years.
