Chemskills (ELO)
ChemSkills is a European project dedicated to identifying and addressing the skills and competence needs required for the green and digital transition of the chemical industry. Through collaboration with industry, education providers, researchers, and policymakers, ChemSkills supports the development of future-oriented training pathways and workforce strategies across several chemical subsectors, including fertilisers.
Within the fertiliser sector, ChemSkills focuses on the transition towards more sustainable and circular nutrient management systems. This includes supporting the adoption of nutrient recovery technologies, recycled phosphorus sources, low-carbon fertiliser production, precision fertilisation, and digital solutions for nutrient management. The project works to identify emerging occupational profiles, future skill requirements, and training gaps to ensure that the workforce is prepared to support a more resource-efficient and environmentally sustainable fertiliser industry.
